Dear Maryknollers (MCS and MSS),
Maryknoll celebrates its Centennial in 2012, and there will be Celebrations for the Sisters starting on January 6th at the Motherhouse in New York. These celebrations will include workers from all the Maryknoll Missions worldwide. We will be keeping our members informed as additional information is finalized.

Here in California we will be praying for this special occasion at our Annual Mass and Luncheon which will be held on Saturday, October 15th 2011, at the lovely home of Magdalen Yum in Menlo Park. Father Louis J. Nichols, who was with us on the cruise ship for our 6th Maryknoll Schools Worldwide Reunion, will officiate Mass at Noon. The latest information of upcoming events for the Centennial will be shared and addressed. A potluck lunch will follow.

In August of 2007 we hosted the 6th Maryknoll Schools Worldwide Reunion on a cruise ship which was a very successful and memorable reunion. Those who participated were fortunate to have had the opportunity to enjoy their personal visits and reconnection with their schoolmates and our dear Sisters. During the Labor Day weekend of 2008 some of our representatives met with our New York alumnae at the Motherhouse in Ossining as well as in Manhattan where we invited eleven of our dear former teachers to a day of sightseeing and Dim Sum. The event was supported by donations from alumnae and friends worldwide. We are happy to share our many photos of these two special occasions on our website at www.mcsmsscalifornia.org.

We have received many requests from alumnae from other parts of California to be part of the Maryknoll Alumnae Association of Northern California; therefore we have re-structured the Association to become Maryknoll Alumnae Association of California. Although headquartered in Northern California, the Association’s spirit of togetherness and communication extends to all of you throughout our golden State.

We have not collected Non-Lifetime Membership Fees for two years, so at this time we are sending out the attached Membership Form to re-establish our membership roster and treasury to better serve our members. Note that the One Year Membership is $15 and the Lifetime Membership is $100. You can download the Membership Form HERE. Please fill out the Membership Form and send it with your check to 1335 Garden Lane, Menlo Park CA94025. Should you have any questions, feel free to contact Kathy Giannini at kkgianni@aol.com , Magdalen Yum at Magdalensf2@yahoo.com , or Maria Gomes at gomesmariaf@astound.net .

Thank you very much, and we all look forward to seeing you.
